sam bunker - my dog loves it here
Biscuit has been staying at Chalkwell since he was about 3 months old. We made use of the day boarding they offer, when I had to work a full day and he has stayed regularly with them when we have holidays. He gets so excited when we get there, that if we are there before it opens, he is pulling to get in! We now have another dog who will be sharing with Biscuit when they need to stay, and we have no concerns at all about how they will be looked after. All the staff ooze love for the dogs and dogs being dogs, they pick up of this and love them back. Chalkwell was recommended to me by two people and I have passed on my recommendations to others. This is a fantastic place to leave your beloved dogs so that you can relax and enjoy a holiday of your own.
Cheryl Adderley. Northampton - CHALKWELL KENNELS ***** FIRST CLASS
Chalkwell Kennels certainly deserves ***** stars, it is run extremely efficiently by owners (Brian & Ria) and has very caring and equally knowledgeable, efficient staff. When we leave our dog (Digs) we have complete peace of mind that he is extremely well looked after, exercised and even groomed and any extra needs are catered for. Digs is now nearly 6 years old and started boarding at Chalkwell when he was a puppy and potential Police Dog for Northamptonshire Police, he never joined the Police Force and we became his proud owners and continued to bring him to Chalkwell. Digs is a very dominate dog and I have no hesitation in sending him to Chalkwell as he is so well looked after and his needs are met along with ours. Only this month Digs was boarding at Chalkwell and he was unwell, Brian monitored him and it became apparent to Brian he needed medical attention and was taken immediately to the vets. He had an emergency operation but is now recovering well thanks to Brian, Ria and staff at Chalkwell.
Nicola Nightingale - Best Kennels by Miles
We left our 7mth old puppy at Chalkwell recently for his first stay in kennels. Having viewed several kennels local to where we live, Chalkwell was in a different league and definitely warranted travelling a distance. The kennels have natural light and there is self access to an outdoor run for each dog in addition to the play areas. Upon collection, our dog was clearly happy and well. The staff were totally professional but also had an obvious love for dogs and knew each one as an individual. The owners even went to the trouble to locate a specialist dog food for us. We found Chalkwell on personal recommendation from someone devoted to their dogs and would have no hesitation in recommending it ourselves to anyone we know.
Jane Williams - Excellent Kennels.
We have given our dogs a holiday at Chalkwell for several years now. At first we were very apprehensive as the dogs were older and had never been in kennels before. We should not have worried. The dogs enjoyed it! They get excited as we drive towards Chalkwell. Brian and Ria are very knowledgeable about dogs and take a personal interest in every dog. One of our dogs who is chronically ill was given special attention. Brian and Ria even took him to our vets while we were away. They continued to take an interest in his health long after his stay with them. The kennels are clean and smart. The staff is friendly and the dogs like them. I do not think we could find a better kennel for our dogs (or for us).
Marina Couch - A Huge Thank You
My husband has already left a very full account of our experiences at your kennels, however I would just like to add my very sincere thanks and gratitude that I can now go on holiday without the constant niggling in the back of my head, 'I wonder if they are ok'? The simple answer is yes, they are fine and have been for several years now. This is in no small part to Brian and Ria, the owners who actually take the time to listen to your dogs needs, their routine, any special little things that you normally do that you would like continue, e.g. the Ryvitas that our bunch know as 'pudding'. The kennel staff fully deserves a huge thank you as it is quite apparent how very hard they work to ensure that the dogs, the kennels and the owners have a very stress free time, either staying or giving over animals. I have never visited the kennels without Brian or Ria saying hello or goodbye to our gang by their names, giving them a pat on the head and saying "see you next year guys". The personal touch that shows they care....Thank You from Chelsea, Fraser and Midge.
Charles Couch - Thank you
We have been using Chalkwell Kennels for 3 years since we sprang a surprise visit on them on a cold and wet Sunday morning. On the tour that Brian gave us there was not a single area of the premises that we could not or did not see. From the many exercise areas to the food store - and yes they really do have all types of food for your dog. However the thing that really impressed us was the smell. It smelt of nothing except fresh air. No Dog pooh; no disinfectant and no dogs. That was something that we had never experienced before. Based on this tour we booked our three dogs in for a 2 week stay - they share a large kennel - and it is hard to explain just how delighted we were when we collected our babies! They were clean and did not smell. They were very fit - probably fitter than when we left them if we are honest and they looked spectacular. Every year since, we have had no hesitation in booking our dogs in with Brian and Ria. This is the first kennels where our dogs actually pull to go in and not to get back in the car. The team here get to know your dogs extremely well and to understand any quirks they might have. They are also prepared to continue with any treats that you would give to your dogs if they were at home. Ours have 'Ryvitas' for breakfast and a hide chew after dinner. These are given in our absence. Also imagine our surprise when talking to Brian to learn that he gives every dog a 'goodnight biscuit' before they are settled down for the night - how sweet is that? Anybody considering booking their dog in here should have no hesitation in getting straight onto the telephone to make the booking. I promise you that you will not regret it - and that your dog will thank you for it.
Kath Hardman - A recent Stay
It was the first time my dogs had been in kennels for over 5 years - but goodness me - I had no worries about leaving them in the capable hands of Brian and everyone at Chalkwell.
Both dogs looked happy and well groomed on collection - they certainly didn't seem to have missed us!

Thank you Chalkwell - I went away confident in the knowledge they would be fine - and they were.

Simba and Honey, our two baby Jack Russells have been coming to Chalkwell Kennels for over 5 years now, and still get really excited when they know they are coming over for their holidays. Brian and Ria and all of the staff are excellent, and we know they are always well looked after when we are on holiday, or out and about for a couple of days.
Karen and I would have no hesitation in recommending Chalkwell Kennels and the staff.
Jacqui Dewar - Five star accommodation

judith jones - Another Happy Holiday
My Bassets have been staying at Chalkwell for the last 6 years, and l would not even think of sending them anywhere else. They look as good when we collect them, as when they arrive. Brian, Ria and staff look after them so well, we know we can holiday without any worries.
